Anna & Cathal | Lough Eske | Co.Donegal

5 Comments Weddings

This is a quick post as there are a lot of amazing images to look at which tell the beautiful story of Anna & Cathal’s gorgeous Wedding much better than I could ever tell with words- maybe that’s why I’m a photographer!! Telling stories through photographs – that’s what I do!! I don’t need to tell you that Anna was beautiful – you can clearly see this!!  You will also notice that, despite being late (I had to add that in!!) she thoroughly enjoyed herself.  I have written about this before and if you are a happy bride not worrying about everyone else having a good time it will clearly show in your photographs!  What you may not be able to tell through the images is that, despite the beautiful warm light, it was really cold for Anna & Cathal who are used to the high temperatures of Dubai, where they live!!  Anna didn’t let this put her off and was up for anything, quoting “beauty feels no pain!!”  I think you’ll see the results of a great photographer + happy, enthusiastic bride (& groom) = gorgeous photographs!! Enjoy!!

Is it wrong to get on with your clients so well?!!  I look forward each time I meet Julie & Damian. We go for cups of tea and snack bars!!  I don’t know how many words we exchange when we meet but the conversation is always good and we speak very quickly each time we meet!!  Can you imagine how excited I am to photograph their wedding in December?  I have a rule that I don’t normally photograph friends weddings (it’s the only opportunity I get to go as a guest!!) but I suppose I’m breaking the rule here as I really consider these guys to be friends now.  Here are some gorgeous photographs of Julie & Damian taken at their e-session, near Letterkenny.  They have ordered a Framed Montage of 3 photographs and a cute gift size Portrait in Black & White for their new home, still space for the Wedding Portraits.  Can’t wait!

This is a sneek peek of a very beautiful session with birthday girl Caitlin.  Her favourite game is to hide behind the sofa and roll on the bed!  She has also just become a big sister!! More to follow from this shoot soon.

So it looks like I am the new resident photographer at the lovely Solis Lough Eske- well I’m there most weekends anyway- I can think of worse ways to spend my weekends!!  I LOVE it here!!  Thank you to Donal & Mark at Lough Eske for making me feel so at ease and letting me be creative.  Last weekend I had the pleasure of photographing beautiful Briege and her new husband Peter.  As usual I have a sneek peek to share with you soon after the wedding and a longer post will follow within the next few weeks.  I’m glad that the sun shone for Briege on Saturday and I have to say this girl knows how to enjoy herself!! I always try and remind my brides that it’s important, after all the time and energy spent preparing a wedding that it’s really important that you enjoy your day. Might I add that Briege organised their wedding (it’s always the bride!!) in just 6 months- pheww!!

I know it seems like a bit of a blog marathon tonight, and I’m not sure about the blog etiquette of posting one post immediately after another but I know that I HAVE to get a sneek peek of Pearl & Simon’s e-session live before I start my weekends work tomorrow.  If you see a 1970′s Transam cruising around Omagh it’s Simon at the wheel with Pearl playing the role of  cuteness in the passenger seat. There is so much to say about Pearl & Simon and I have so many beautiful photographs to share with you in a longer post, so here is a sneek peek from  their e-session.  I enjoyed this session immensely.

So the photographs have been viewed and there’s too many to choose from, here’s a short blog post to share with the folks back home.  I love David’s big personality (he’s sooooo tall too) and Emma-Jane, well, she’s just a cool cat.  Guys I’ll have your Framed Portrait ready for you and displayed at the Slieve Donard in June.  Looking forward to it.  See you on the wedding day for some more fun!

This is just a sneek peek for Julie & Damian before they come to the studio and view their complete portfolio of photographs from their fabulous e-session at New Mills just outside Letterkenny. Damian did all the booking for the wedding and Julie and me do all the talking!!  I always try and let a couples personality shine through on a shoot so that it really reflects who they are.  I think this photograph does just that.

Castle Archdale seems to be a popular place for my loved up brides & grooms to be!!  It’s funny, I never tire of shooting there! There is always something different to suit different couples, in different weather at different times of the year!!  Today we have Emma-Jane & David who came all the way from Belfast to celebrate their engagement in Fermanagh!  I LOVE this shot!

Moving from Anna & Cathal’s last blog post in Fermanagh to their beautiful wedding in Lough Eske, I think this is the only blog post where the wedding post rapidly follows the pre-wedding post!! Today it’s just a sneek peek from a moment from the wedding where the sun just snuck out from behind the clouds at the right time, to give Anna & Cathal a beautiful warm glow. I appreciate it was still quite cold for these guys as they live in Dubai!!  I can’t wait to share a full post from this gorgeous wedding over the next few weeks.  Here’s one to drool over in the meantime!!

Ok this is a very quick post, more of a pre-wedding shoot than an engagement session as Anna & Cathal are getting married tomorrow!!  Yes TOMORROW!!  The happy couple live in Dubai and flew back just this week to celebrate their wedding at home with family and friends.   I always try to meet my bride & groom prior to the wedding for a quick chat and a coffee just to feel their excitement and go through the finer details of the day eg timings, families, special requests etc etc so that everything runs as smoothly as possible on the wedding day itself.  So thank you to Anna & Cathal for taking the time out of your busy week for some photographs.  I have your signature board all ready for your guests to leave messages on at the reception!  See you tomorrow guys!!
